The recommendation reads as follows:
'This N.C.O. was posted to 50 Squadron with effect from 22nd September 1942, and has carried out 31 sorties and 184.15 hours operational flying. At all times he has carried out his sorties in a cheerful and efficient manner helping to set a high standard of morale. He has helped to bomb most of Germany's heavily fortified cities and on 17th October 1942 took part in the highly successful Le Creusot daylight raid. As a wireless operator he was most efficient and was well thought of by his specialist officer. For his enthusiasm, efficiency and cheerful determination I consider he is worthy of the non-immediate award of the Distinguished Flying Medal'.
